Level 3 Award In The Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pumps

Introduction

This is a nationally recognised qualification in the installation and maintenance of heat pump systems. The qualification is developed from the National Occupational Standards and is recognised by the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS)registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join one of their respective schemes.

To provide the knowledge and understanding required to install, commission and maintain groundsource and airsource heat pump systems.

Who is the course aimed at?

Installers, maintenance businesses, specifiers, building control officers and inspectors and indeed anyone who needs to know about safe installation practices of heat pump installations.

The course is specifically designed for both experienced operatives and new entrants to this area of work.

Entry requirements/pre-requisites

Candidates must hold a Water Regulations, and an Energy Efficiency qualification as well as one of the following;

Y/602/3054 Know the requirements to install, commission and handover heat pump systems non-refrigerant circuits

D/602/3072 Install, commission and handover heat pumps non-refrigerant circuits

F/602/3078 Know the requirements to inspect, service and maintain heat pump system installations non-refrigerant circuits

L/602/3083 Inspect, service and maintain heat pump installations non- refrigerant circuits

Four days

Training Method

Theory and practical workshop

Assessment

Assessments consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations

Course Outcome/Qualification

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a certificate of competence.
